Fred, I think you are onto something. For some reason the Advanced Search bar
did not come over when I moved my form over to ARS 7.6.04 SP2. AND the search
checkbox is no longer checked. We are a custom shop, so I'm working in Base
Mode and this is a custom form.
I always make it a point
Have the User open a CRQ (must have a record selected, not just a blank Search)
and then under the Advanced section of the NavBar Select Advanced Search. You
will be prompted for Search by Work Information and Search by Relationships.

Well, we've had our second blade logic class cancelled in the Chicago area in
the last 30 days.
Dev Tech is looking to find a BL instructor in the greater chicago area to
train one of our individuals. We will pay up to what we had planned to pay
for the BMC training. 19-22 dec works
Hello Listers,
I'm trying to learn how to delete records that are past and the End Date
is more than 6 months prior to todays date. I built the escalation and
when I run it nothing happens. Can someone point in the right
directions with the Run Process syntax.
I'm using SQL 2008 and Windows
Try
Run Process is:Application-Query-Delete-Entry AP:Alternate ('Status' =
Past) and ('End Date' ($TIMESTAMP$ - (86400 * 180)))
'End Date' is the field on the form like 'Status'.

Alright, I managed a fix to my issue. Since the form wouldn't open in a modify
window (it does open in a new window) I tried opening in a search window. This
works. I open the windows with the values I want to search on plus a flag that
the active link uses in the Run If so that the action
This did not work. Advanced Search is on my form now on 7.6.04 p2 and I'm
still getting Internal Error.
Not to mention (I forgot) that I'm also getting this on my old dev server 7.1
p7 as well.
7.6.04 p2 is pointing to 7.6.04 midtier and 7.1 p7 is pointing to 7.6.04 p1
server. (getting
End Date as Linda pointed out should be a field on that form you are
searching for, represented by 'End Date' in the qualification and not $End
Date$..
That being said, LJ's suggestion is right..
The qualification should be in the Run If of the Escalation and the run
process should be
Joe,
I know this discussion comes up every once in awhilebut you and I seem to
differ in our opinions of how it works.
So...based on your statement below, having the escalation set a field, and
having a filter fire on that field being set, then performing the delete will
be 'faster'
I was thinking the same thing.

First, let me thank you for all the input.
I struggled with the Application-Delete-Entry $SCHEMA$ $Request ID$,
because the AP:Alternate form doesn't have a field called Request
ID. Upon further digging, from the clues you gave, I used the
following to get the results I was looking for.
Run
HI All,
Commit Changes vs. PERFORM ACTION APPLY. Is one better to use than the other on
ARS 6.3?
I have one active link that populates data from a SQL query and a second active
link to commit the changes. These were probably created under ARS 3 or 4. The
Commit Changes does the job but always
$1$ is the same as $Request ID$ if a form when created, has not have had the
database name altered. In case of AP:Alternate, I think this has been altered
to Entry ID.. Check the database name..
That being said, its safer to use $1$ in your workflow as irrespective to
whatever changes are made
Now that you remind me, I actually remember discussing this once with you..
I'll really need to log the workflow to see what thread processes the filter
workflow when filters are executed triggered by the AR_ESCALATOR user.
I was told this in a performance tuning class years ago (version 4.0
Joe….that is ‘one’ of the things the Commit Changes does….when you are NOT in a
dialog window, for example in a search window, the commit changes action
performs the search, if in a submit window, it creates the record…if in a
modify window it saves changes…so I think they ‘kinda do the same
One of us should set this up and test it :)if either of us had that sort of
spare time :D

Does Advanced Interface Form (AIF) support conditions and questions in SRM

or questions. It's been primarily for workflow.

Going out on a limb here, since this is all new to me. It appears to me
that both methods are needed depending on the form you are working with.
The CAI:EventParmsInterface from has a field called Deleted which when
set to True will trigger workflow to delete the entry.
The AP:Alternate form
SRM Advanced Interface Form is a normal Remedy Regular form and you can
design/ develop as per your requirements.

Hi Moe,
Currently the question and answer functionality in SRM is implemented by a
visualisation plugin using a set of Remedy forms for configuration and data
storage. It is possible to reverse engineer the question/answer
functionality in an AIF using standard Remedy workflow. I have done this
That's a good question Mark. I'm not aware of any differences that would
make one more efficient than the other. Personally I prefer to use the
Commit Changes as it seems cleaner to use this rather than one of many
run process commands.

True Commit Changes does that too, though personally I have started to use the
Perform-Action-Apply for creating workflow for submits and searches as soon as
it got available in version 6.3 I think..
Commit Changes should not however be confused with the ‘commit transaction’ in
