I am adding fields (attributes) to the CMDB and then adding them into Asset
Management. If I add a new field to a class, do I have to go through this same
process for every class? For example: I want to add a new Date field to all of
the Asset forms which equates to adding to every

If you need Date to be availble in Computer class only- add the field in
computer class
Adding a field to a base element is not recommened,when you add a field in
base element and want to export the cmdb class
Just wondering -- what kind of Date field -- what is it going to store?
I am always interested in things that apply generically.

Bela, if you want the field in every class, add it to Base Element using
the Class Manager. If you want the field only in Computer System and
everything below it, just add it to Computer System.
Otherwise, yes. To have the field show up in the Asset forms, you'll need
to add it from the join form
