The only thing I can come up with is a compromise, and it's not perfect. Turn it back on for now, but if there's trouble and people start using it to hide their wrongdoings, then off it goes again. Or just make a zero-tolerance rule against it

Re: enough is enough, and it's time for a change.
Putting aside whether or not the assets are legal for a moment, audiogames probably aren't the only things that make use of stock sounds. Sometimes sounds in an English dub of an anime (like Yu-Gi-Oh!) have sounds changed to more familiar on
Re: enough is enough, and it's time for a change.
Just because Nintendo's game sounds can be found on the internet doesn't make them public domain, and it doesn't mean Nintendo wouldn't care if someone made a game using said sounds. We'll never know if Nintendo cares unless a couple things
Re: enough is enough, and it's time for a change.
Going back to the rule suggestion for a moment, relying on the owner of sounds to complain won't work for things like Crazy Party or the Alter Aeon soundpack. Not unless, as Jayde says, someone's willing and able to drop those companies a li
Re: enough is enough, and it's time for a change.
Quite honestly, I feel like the concept is the opposite. If it can be proved that sounds are stolen and used without permission, then there's a problem. I admit that this doesn't really help cases like Crazy Party, but that's how I see it ri
Re: So if soundpacks are being cracked down on...
I still wonder how some of those sounds for Miriani were made. Some of them are actually just snippets of larger sounds, but others I have no idea.

Re: how far have we really taken these rules on the forum!
It's probably due to that content ID system. If the system can't identify the material, it can't flag it. Someone would have to make a claim which would have to be reviewed. This is just a guess.
