Re: Grendal's Cave
I am the creator of Grendel’s Cave, and I just discovered AudioGames.net, and its discussion of Grendel's Cave. First, please forgive my ignorance in not providing labels on my images. This was a conscious decision I made many years ago in an attempt to reduce bandwidth, to
Re: Grendal's Cave
Just so you all know, the new world of Grendel's Cave is now active, with all new kingdoms, monsters and items. If anyone's been wanting to play but avoiding the reset, now's your chance to get started.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=145159#p145159
Re: Grendal's Cave
You can play the game completely free as long as you don't mind starting completely over every time you die. Lives only come into play if you die, otherwise you can play free for as long as you want, and you can create as many characters as you want. I think the only way to ea
Re: Grendal's Cave
Hi.This game sounds pretty cool, and thanks for a nice description Bladestorm. You are really good at describing things. So, you can't play this game for free, or are you given new lifes for free if you wait a day or so?URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=144291#
Re: Grendal's Cave
Lol, maybe grendel heard you and is doing it to be contrary, . The odd thing with firefox is since I thought it could be supernova (albeit it would be a first, as supernova does not alter or interfere with any running programs, just recieves info directly), however even when I
Re: Grendal's Cave
I think Firefox just has screen reader problems, plain and simple. It works fine for me with NVDA most of the time, but with Jaws it crashes on just about everything. Also, I find this highly amusing. The second I start complaining about Grendel's Cave value not going up fast e
Re: Grendal's Cave
Well Angband has hp, but it's got some pretty extreme situations that will! kill you fiarly quickly, for instance running into a paralysis jelly and not having anti paralysis gear, or running into something that smacks you with n element or a curse your not resistant to (since
Re: Grendal's Cave
Ah, that could be the problem then. I've only tried the game with IE and Jaws, haven't tried Chrome or Firefox, or NVDA. Either way the game is kinda neat if you can play it, though I'm already getting a little bored because despite the semi-realistic combat and unique sensory
Re: Grendal's Cave
Well I agree on the mud point, since in a mud, woopse my attention lasped! and I will certainly agree that with the graphical games I've played, those that are longer than arcade style, I actually do tend to use passwords, saving, or in cases of older games actually skip
Re: Grendal's Cave
Holy crap, I remember goblinpit. That game would've been super awesome if not for permadeath, in fact I think that's why it failed, I don't think people were dumb enough to buy resurrections. Also this game only seems to work truely well with IE and jaws, otherwise you'll just
Re: Grendal's Cave
Yep, as I said in the first post, there's not much of a death penalty if your stat total is below 125 in the beginner kingdom. It gets a little worse after 125, causing you to drop all your items and lose a bit more stats, up until 500. Then you lose lives. But in the beginner
Re: Grendal's Cave
I've actually noticed since the remaking of Hal's web navigation it's been much worse at this sort of thing, just because dolphin were so insistant on giving it lots of weerd landmark features it lost some instant detection abilities. As it stands it only deted images as hotsp
Re: Grendal's Cave
All images are labelled for me. I think it's your screen reader, in this case. Jaws has a feature where it can read the filename of an image, which usually acts as a decent label, especially in this case. I've been able to get around all parts outside the dungeon and know wher
Re: Grendal's Cave
sounds cool, I was looking for a new online game, I'll give it a try. Btw, what is goblin pit? I saw a game called goblins online, but that was another genleo/iternal duel clone and really didn't have that much interesting about it.Edit: okay, tried it, but unlabled images are
