I be interested to know what sort of analog 5V regulator runs with just
6VDC input. Most require a couple volts drop to work, and when they
don't get it, they stop regulating.

P Floding, that is really interesting! Especially how the wall-wart
seems to degrade simply by being plugged only into the wall (and the
other side presumably left unplugged). I wonder, do you have (or could
you source) an optical cable to try? I would be quite interested to
know if replacing the

Has anyone any experience or comments on the Lite Audio DAC-AH? Would
this be a step up from the Squeezebox 3 onboard DAC? I am entertaining
the idea of an external DAC to "squeeze" all the potential out of the
device but I am unable to drop any serious $$$ (>$500).

Not sure I can help with request 2, though there might be something
worth exploring by configuring the Now Playing and Screensaver configs
differently.
BTW - if you use erland's new CustomScan plugin you can get it to read
any tag you like and get it presented for use by MusicInfoScr, this is

I'm not sure ... but if I charged the rate my employer charges for my

One thing that constantly bugs me and that could possibly be tied into
the display configuration and the way the whole display thing works is
the way the Now Playing screen works. Currently, for instance, if I am

I'm sure it has been reported before in various threads about power
supplies for the SB3, but I'd like to chime in too and report that my

This sort of stuff re-affirms my suspiciion that a lot of audiophiles
are chasing shadows. They think that sound quality improves the more
they spend, whereas a lot of it is physcological.

What happens if both the SBs are in the same room and powered from the
same socket? Is it perhaps the case that the two rooms are on
different power circuits (possibly even different phases?) and that the
two circuits have a large ground offset?
