The Linn website might interest you. Not only has full bandwidth CD WAV

Also Josh Coalson (the FLAC developer) usually lists FLAC download

Does anyone use an SB3 directly into a pair of tube monoblocs? I have a
pair of Quicksilver mid monos that I run a moddified SB3 directly into.

Low signal to noise ratio. You've all but eliminated the signal, while
the noise has stayed the same.
Also, the display may cause noise, so you could try brightness=0.
Perhaps try setting 'preamp volume control' in player settings to
AllOfMP3.com sells music encoded as FLAC as an option. There is some

I guess it's because people have observed (heard) a difference when

Question:
The problem with online distribution of music in FLAC format is that
even broadband connections are rather on the slow side. Figure that a
600MB CD compresses to 350MB and you're still looking at a half hour or

On the other side consider shipping (often overseas) + customs + taxes

For example, Naim CDs cause me a headache because of UK pricing and
shipping costs... I'd greatly appreciate if they offer downloads,
whatever time

So, what's the bottom line to all this? Has it ever been tested in ABX

The sound stage will open up, bass will tighten and the imaging will

I've tried the brightness thing to no avail. I can turn the SB volume

Yes, the main reason for analog attenuation is to get lower volumes of

I'm just getting into computer-based audio. I have good audio equipment

bought a Mac Mini that
DRM has not prevented a single song from making it to P2P, so DRM does
not prevent file sharing.
As for CD vs FLAC downloads, there are arguments both ways. A CD has
nice graphics and acts as a backup if the ripped tracks are ever lost
or damaged. Of course, it is much easier to store 10,000
