You want to see the signal path BEFORE it gets onto a CD/vinyl...it

Get yourself Musical Fidelity Superchargers. They'll drive anything to
hell & back, and if you wish to keep the sonic signature of your amp
(even if it's a low-wattage SET) you can do that, too. Can't lose.

Doesn't it have to reclock the data, add jitter?
Unless you use word clock but I doubt those devices have that support.
IMHO it's better to use specialized software like Acourate to generate
your filters
I used to do it like barty but now i use an app called CoverScout. It
seems that the artwork that is fetched by itunes gets stored in some
other type of archive file that only itunes recognizes, for some reason
the artwork is not embedded in the music file. Doing what barty does,
bypasses that arc

My TP plays full volume on either setting with the new trunk build.

I've never fully understood the whole album art issue, but this is what
I do.
For ever rip, I go into iTunes Music Library, find the new ripped
files.
If the album art is in one of the files (or all of the as is usually
the case), I Get Info and copy the album art from the Artwork tab. Or
Copy I
All of these so called "mods" involve hanging a bunch of wires inside
the enclosure, even the fancy Bolder!
The RFI generated by said wires defeats the whole purpose of the mod,
which is (or was) to improve the sound!

Are you equating the comments by Sean regarding handwiring in a couple
of upscale caps and changing the clock with the $1,500 mods done by
bolder? After buying the sb, that's around $1,800 already compared
with the $2k transporter.

After installing SC7/FW40 my Transporter "locks up" after awhile and SC
cannot see it any longer. Also before locking up, the controls don't

going back to Slimserver... (Another thing: Before when I pressed play

I think the problem is that Player->Settings->Audio->Digital Volume

That pretty much nails it - but I would add Room Correction as an
option

The best "upgrade" for the SB DAC is:
* Better speaker placement
* Better speakers
* Better room (or room treatments)
* Better DAC
* Transporter ;)

I have to agree with EZK's sentiments too. I have never become involved
with a product in this manner before (and still find it a bit
uncomfortable to tell the truth) but I am very glad to own a number of
SlimDevices and to partake in my own tiny way in the development of new
ones. I too am extrem

The only one time I tried fiddling with the digital input setting on my
Transporter this is exactly that I heard (firmware 36).
