In this mad world of an audiophile, nothing makes sense.
Since it doesn't make sense, this isn't an issue that can be discussed
and aligned upon. (we will just end up fighting :-)

Got it easily enough on my Aego speakers connected to the computer (at
low volume) but, to be honest, that's a pretty poor clip for showing
the difference. If I had to pick something that would sound OK at low
bit rates, it would be something like that clip. It's only the little
bit of high freq

I would agree on the stock sound - very transparent and revealing but
the highs aren't 'tizzy,' just accurate and I have a very resolving
system. Tizzy sounds like the stock unit would have a problem or be
inaccurate.
Thanks for your post Ted. Good to hear your thoughts.

If I owned that company that made those marketing claims (I refuse to
label them "explanations") and they helped sell more cables then I
would certainly classify them as very
Interesting..
I believe I have a Power 3, on a boat, on its way to me, me thinks it
could be a while getting here, but when it does, I'll pitch it against
a nice solid core silver cable I have.
Sound wise ;-) not build quality wise ;-)

Thanks for the kudos. And yes, you guys are correct about the
"comparo." :) I did not have both products in my room at the same
time. In fact they were at least a month apart, and my memory is
what we're we talking about?
Seriously, the stock sound was pretty evident, and not that diffic

I see your point.
Some time ago I thought the FW15 angle was worth a shot as most
tweakers are never satisfied with status-quo.
As I remember there was a difference in the sound but I could not na

I'll bet your dentist loves you.
FW15 expresses a salty, spicefull approach with a fruity bloom finish.

Of course that well designed gear gets chucked in and out of vans, and
is generally abused. After a while it gains a few 'roadie repairs', and
then the funs starts.
I lost count of the amount of back line stuff I had to rewire after the
RCDs got tripped by rotten repairs. Good ones were:

The generally accepted rule of thumb for the hifi industry is a 1:10
ratio of cost of parts to bricks and morter retail.
Taking that, $15 of components would, on average equate to $150.

I suspect this is simply an answer to the question about whether the
$15 of components are worth more because of the investment in
marketing, distribution etc. It is a semantic distinction, I know, but
I would say they are not *worth* more, but *cos

What matters for a cabinet is that it has the designed volume to load

I agree with Bigfool about the calculation of profit (or mark up), but I
suspect the profit margin is even closer to 100%. That $15 estimate for
parts is generous, even if we are talking about over the counter retail
prices. If we were to consider trade prices for bulk purchases, I
