I actually like the A324 a lot.
It was a nice DAC when it came out (see
http://www.stereophile.com/digitalprocessors/561 for the original
Stereophile review; it eventually made the Class A list of Stereophile
recommended components), and still sounds very nice today.
When used with a SB3 as tran
You might consider using a DEQ2496 or SRC2496 as a DAC:

You also get a digital equalizer, real-time analyzer, automatic EQ (if
you add a calibrated mic), excellent metering, etc. It's a real audio
swiss army knife.
I'm using it as my DAC and also usin
I don't know if this is the kind of .bin a ReadyNAS would expect but it

Hmmm thats what I'm kind of getting the hint of just googling as well. I
may skip this.
I appreciate your inputs by the way. Maybe I'll start with just
swapping the PSU in the squeezebox. I've read a good linear supply can
make some differences.

Well, you're certainly not alone... Had lots of overtime and I'm

I am guessing that the CD player had only a single output driver circuit
for both connectors, and furthermore that the speaker amplifier had a
relay muting circuit on its input that shorts the inputs when it is
powered off. Both are questionable design choices, especially the relay

I now have my Transporer's XLR outs connected to my speaker amp, while
the RCAs are connected to a headphone amp.
Will this cause problems? Do both amps need to be powered on when the
Transporter is on?

I'm not sure what happened. It was included in last night's build but
for some reason it didn't get copied over from the build system to the
web server. We're looking into it.

That was the case here also. As soon as I went to 7.0.1 with FW40, the
degaussing started. About a week ago I gave beta 7.1 a try (with FW40).

If the DAC is going to remain 'stuck' to the Duet and NEVER be connected
to a computer for playback, then don't waste the money. I've got

I am running SC 7.01 on an Infrant Ready NAS. I am interested in trying
SC version 7.1 since, I believe, Transporter Firmware V40 supports

Can someone explain why no "Bin" file is shown on the nightly 7.1
