I don't use any on my audio equipment. I assume that the manufactures
have done good research and have the correct amount of line filtering
in their AC/DC stages. (Look at the work Sean put into the

However, for computer equipment I almost always use Liebert (or

I know there is a difference between lossless and 320 Mp3's when you
compare them on a Hi-Fi system with decent speakers.
But do 320 mp3s still sound good enough on a Hi-Fi system if you dont
have the lossless version to compare it too?

In my blind test the 320 missed some air compared to FLAC but sure it
sounded good, just a bit darker with less decay. Only apparent on great
recordings and if volume is cranked up.

If we accept that a LAME-encoded MP3 can be proven to sound better than
the source, then this means the MP3 sounds DIFFERENT than the source.
And any case where an MP3 sounds different from the source would be
considered a bug by the LAME developers, and they would attempt to fix
it.
So even if
So if you took the CD, encoded using LAME then convert back to another
CD, it sounds better...
So if you took that CD, converted to MP3 and back to WAV on CD it gets
even better...
And on and on and on :-)

The main problem with 320 is that there's less air around the natural
instruments and voice. So, if you listen to an unknown recording, there
should be no problem : at most you will think the recording is mediocre.
