Paul, thank you for the detailed answer. The reason I asked was that I
_now_ have a completely opposite opinion of my (Cullen-modded) DLIII,
however when I first installed it things were very different. It went
into my system side-by-side with what was my pet DIY project for almost
2 years. AD

Just to be clear, I consider burn-in of anything but speakers to be a

thrown the instruments right off :-)

I wonder if they observed these effects through actual measurements,
or just with ears-alone listening tests (like I
Hi all,
I've recently invested in a Transporter as a source for my DAC. I have
a dCS Paganini 3 box set up with word clock, so the transporter matches
in well in that I can use the word clock and an AES input to the
Paganini DAC. Mainly I bought the Transporter as a way to move toward a

Phil, you believe it's a myth. As you may see, based on my personal
experience with this DAC, NOS tubes in my PrimaLuna, with freshly
soldered circuits during my days of DIY hobby, and even -lately - with
newly purchased Chord speaker cable (replacing Van den Hul
First of all are you sure you followed the Inguz audio installation
instructions and the Inguz plug-in is really on line? As you know the
result of the DRC is generally quite obvious. Take a look at the Inguz

Could we get some additional information? What revision of SC are you

What format are the 24/96 files that you are trying to play in?

Phil! This is a nice sunny day here, so I'm rather going to equip myself
with some nice cold ale. I appreciate our discussion as being an
exchange of beliefs and opinions, without any pressure to actually
persuade the other party. Otherwise, I would suggest vodka as the weapon

I am very pleased with a stock DLIII driven by a Duet reciever with
Acopian linear PS, over a Creative Cable Green Hornet 2m cable. Very
resolving, very musical, not at all strident (and I am quite sensitive
to strident gear). The Green Hornet sounds much better in this system
than the Stereovox
I use the DLIII with a PS Audio Digital AC Cord. This cord has been
excellent with every digital source I have tried it on, and
significantly improved the sound of the DLIII.
