[SlimDevices: Audiophiles] Touch or Audiocom modded Duet Receiver

2010-07-22 Thread philb42
I'm deciding on which way to go with these, which will be used with an external DAC to be decided. Tempted to just plump for the Touch, but does anyone have comparative experience of the modded receiver? If Touch, what about a Teddyduet Power Supply - anyone tried this? It virtually doubles the

Can't help you directly on the choice between Touch and Audiocom-modded duet, but just thought i would complicate things a bit further. I had my DAC modded by audiocom (and was very happy with this), but am aware from my discussions with mark that he does not feel able to mod the Touch

A higher end Atom should probably be fine as long as you avoid formats that need transcoding. If you used mp3, 16 x 256kbps is only 4mbps. This would probably work fine over wifi as long as you are careful to use a good router (802.11n with MIMO antennas) and the server is not wireless.

Just a thought. You mention the DAC output is via RCA phono jacks. My preamp an Adcom GFP-750, has both balanced (XLR) and unbalanced RCA input choices. Only one input may be used at a time; and if you elect to use the unbalanced RCA input one must jump pins 1 3 of the balanced XLR plug to

I hesitate to meddle in the affairs of dragons because I am small, crunchy and go well with pickles but wonder if you have thought of an SB+ (http://www.at-tunes.co.uk/) as an option? I bought one recently and it sounds good to me though I am generally reckoned to have cloth ears and not to be

[SlimDevices: Audiophiles] TRANSPORTER output not recognised - help?!?

Hi Guys Help!! I've just received a NAD M2 digital amp which in theory can accept any digital sample rate from 32-192kHz. However, when I connect my beloved Transporter (TS) to it there's nothing coming out the other side. The M2 isn't locking on to the digital signal from the TS. I also own a
