Oddly, I use the knob all the time, often going for something in New
Music so it's even faster than starting iPeng on the iPad. But if it
wasn't there I'd adjust.

have you tried a xilinx reset?
I have no idea what that is! Sounds painful. :)
I was able to reencode one of the Koln flacs and now it will play.
Weird.

Different symptom, but when I upgraded my Transporter firmware to fix a
problem where the Transporter asked to upgrade firmware everytime I
switched between streaming and the local server, the Koln concert files
won't play anymore at all. Haven't resolved yet.

there is a setting somewhere like Allow playing of
files with no tag information or some such.
Ideas?
Thanks,

Now I can see the high res files under my 'Music Folder' in the
Transporter, but they look like 'file:\\\ ...' and if I select one
Transporter says 'Can't play this file'.
Maybe a setting in the Squeezebox server? A cue or other metadata file
needed?
Thanks

The Update Firmware message has stopped, but the new Squeezebox server
isn't recognizing my high res FLAC files- they are on my drive, but the
folder shows empty in the web interface and Penguin HD.
Ideas?
Thanks

Seems like every other time I turn on the Transporter it says, Hold
brightness to update firmware. About 10 times I've had to do this in
the last month. Didn't do that before.
Ideas? Thanks

imagine it would be easy for anyone to
duplicate. It's easier to hear if you turn the Transporter digital
volume down and the pre-amp volume up.

ah that makes more sense. so the wires are picking up wireless
emissions *from* the transporter antennas. and in this case they were
indeed wires from the preamp, past the transporter and to the amps which
are at the bottom.
thanks for the explanation!

not address this issue so i am adding it to
this thread.
so the upshot for me is the transporter antennas can pick up
interference.

it is my understanding there are a couple of sellers duking it out on
audiogon right now. i bought a transporter from one of them for a good
price, near what you say and it was new as described.

finally, if anyone has an easier what to accomplish this (software
emulation through squeezecenter to the transporter, i am all ears!)

want to try out the tube sound without the expensive and trouble of
actually buying more equipment. ive heard the software emulation these
days is really good.
are you thinking of a reason i shouldnt try it?

: To what is your Transporter connected
- Preamp
- Poweramp
i have all ten inputs connected on my linn kolector. i may try the
direct connect to see what it sounds like without the preamp though.

1. reduce the transporter volume
2. set the internal transporter attenuation
