It's a great DAC for the price. I recommend it!
I have had my lite dac60 for a few weeks now (shipped direct from HK to
the UK) and I must say I'm impressed with the build and the sound. With
no UK dealership service may be a problem, but then it is half the
price of other
Hi,
I am glad you like yours. Mine keeps getting better and better. I
upgraded the coupling caps with Sonicaps and added a pair of Amperex
6DJ8 Bugle Boys from the early 1960s. Sound quality improved
considerably.
I usually power mine up two hours before any serious listening. I only
left it
i'm curious about this one. i'm also looking at the mhdtlab models.

Well folks, my DAC-60 arrived today. It was shipped by air courier
directly from Hong Kong.
I unpacked it and it's indeed one quality unit. Super thick brushed
aluminum faceplate. Thicker than my ARC PH3's!! High quality glass
epoxy PCB. Extruded aluminum heatsinks for all regulators. Parts
How much of a difference is there and how would you describe it.
I know the K variety goes for 60%+ more then the standard one and the
specs don't seem to be that different.
Not sure I understand the difference.

the K version is just the highest grade. I guess the ones that spec
better during production. This has been going on with DACs since the
early days. Remember the Philips TDA-1541A Crown, their highest
grade. It was used in my old McIntosh MCD7007 CD player and scores of
other high-end digital
No, I have not used one with a squeeze box - although I hear talk of
many folks using the non-oversampling Lite DAC AH with devices like
these. I think my friend got it at some online store with a 30 day
money back guarantee and a warranty.

Just ordered the DAC-60
$470 including air shipping from GR Research.
Can't wait to get it.
I'll keep you guys posted!

I'm enjoying the way your whole DAC adventure is unfolding. I can't
afford anything right now, so I get to 'listen vicariously' through
you. Keep up the good work crooner :)

Thanks Skunk. I figure I will ordering by next week. I'll keep everybody
posted! :-)

Is it much expensive to buy it outside China? For a lite DAC 72, it is
about US$230 (not include delievery cost) in HK.

Yeah I guess there's a markup compared to the price in China or HK. But
even so it's still a bargain IMO.

I believe the only way for westerners to order Lite Audio direct from
HK is DIYclub.biz, where the price for DAC60 is $368 and DAC72 is $295,
neither price
That makes GR prices a bargain then!
I'd love to order the DAC-60 right away, but the bills keep coming.
Such is life!

At present, most of the Audiophiles are talk about the DIYeden DAC
especially DIYEDEN Great March, it is about US$190. I haven't got one
since I have a hi-end DIY Tube DAC. It got very good comment from
audiophiles and I think that it is worth to try at this price.
You can know more from this
Speaking of chinese DAC's there are number of happy customers of ebay
seller mhdtlab. I own two of his dacs and think they're great.
Technically he is from Taiwan.

That site seems to be run by the same person as DIYclub (judging by the
way it loads and looks) . Thanks for the link though, I'm
There was a discussion about a modded version of this DAC over at
AudioCircle. http://www.audiocircle.com/circles/viewtopic.php?t=25007
Also, if you go to the GR forum at AudioCircle, there is a lot of
interest in this DAC.

Thanks I'll check it out.
I am listening to my SB3 via the analog outputs and it indeed sounds
very nice to my ears. If I am getting an outboard DAC, might as well
get a quality one, preferably tube. I want something that really is an
improvement. The smaller DACs are nice but I don't think
The same DAC is available through GR Research.

Thanks for the link. I am thinking about going with GR research since
they seem more professional, at least the webpage presentation. They
also ship by air directly from the factory, so the product is probably
the latest.

watch ebay for those. I passed up bidding on a dac-60 when the bidding
went over 300 (about 6mo. ago), but it went for under 350 shipped, new.
Hell of a bargin with that faceplate :) The seller was a dealer out of
the US, maybe poth or pacific audio or something- who also sells them
new. Buy in
That's the page I was browsing. Price is about right sans shipping.
There's also an outfit shipping directly from the factory.
Given the increase in quality of Chinese goods in recent years (I am
typing this on a Chinese made laptop), I am confident this unit will be
good buy.
