GFA now has an AD (AD460) which requires that these drive gimbal units be colour-coded to match colour-coded mounting positions in the wings. Red and green were the suggested colours I believe. IIRC 7% of the male population has some degree of colour blindness. Sure hope they don't look

Yeah and Hornet ailerons can be installed upside down on the wrong wings as well. Its hard to do but not impossible. Not with quite the same consequences but still serious. Crossed Blanik rudder cables can also put some excitement into peoples lives too. Be vigilant out there. Patch -

You are right John, but I was talking about a story in soaring magazine, (the USA one) some years ago and the story of an incident with the cables crossed twice. Same result. Usually with anything like this the mistake is noticed close to the ground and whilst the gliders are usually damaged
