Hi all,
The National Championships rules include a clear prohibition of the use
of blind flying instruments, and of cloud flying - and a statement that
flight recorder evidence may be used to confirm any violations.
Now, how does one fairly enforce a "no cloud flying" rule? Firstly, by

Current Nationals Rules (which in this area are consistent with World

Hi All,
There are a number of foreign pilots seeking gliders to hire for the

If anyone on the list has, or knows of, gliders that may be available,

Nigel,
Can you confirm that the OzFlarm frequency is 921?
I have purchased a Colibri-F (sorry!) and I want to make sure it is

Hi all,
Some of you may remember that I did this exercise for the May emails. I
was overseas for much of June and July - Italy generally, and Rieti in
particular, are great places to visit! This is the first month since
May where I have had complete enough data to try again.
What a tough choice.
I can fly around in a 60:1 glider looking at retro instruments, or I can
fly around looking at the best instruments in an aircraft that wouldn't
have won a gliding competition this side of 1960.
That's a really difficult decision. Just ask Tomas Suchanek or Allan

An FAI Sporting Licence costs $5 per year.

Hi all,
Just a couple of comments on the current situation as regards

current situation. I am not attacking the situation and not defending

It's probably worth mentioning another little problem, which is nowhere
near as crazy.
Currently, all IGC approved flight recorders measure Engine Noise Level
(ENL) to determine whether a motor glider has run its MoP (Means of
Propulsion) device.
The MoP of the Antares is so quiet that it can't
