Hi all,
I just installed Dynamics Ax 4 in my notebook. First I installed it
when connecting to domain, although I installing AOS, dB Server to my
notebook. First time, it working just fine. The AOS started in my local
notebook, and DB connection to my local SQL server is success.
But the
Hi Ton,
It is due to the domain problem. Becuase AOS is
installed on different domain so the wondows service
will not start for it. you have to install AOS locally
to the domain this computer to make it work.

Thx, Mohit, but the service did start, only when open Ax, the
message not recognized... appears.
Also, if I'm not mistaken, setup Ax 4 will not run if there's no
domain server / log on locally (this computer).

Anton,
Use the domain account to log into ur notebook. This has to be done
regardless of whether you are connceted to the domain or now. A domain
account is required to install AX. But once Ax is installed, you can use it
without the conncetion to domain.
There will be a domain profile created in
Hi Raj, sorry I forgot to tell, you're right, I can run axapta, if I
log in to the domain, although I'm not connected to any.
The problem is, actually last time I can run it even when I'm log on
locally, only I forgot what is the step when I installed before.. :(.
FYI this is my second time
Hi Anton,
Maybe last time, after logging into your local system account, you ran AX
using the domain account by specifying it in the Run As option?
If you had some other way which you were able to get AX to run on a local
account, it would be very interesting piece of knowledge!
Best regards,
Hi, We need to implement virtual companies at one of our clients. The
client has gone live with AX and has decided to share certain tables
in the system. Is there any complications in implementing virtual
companies after the client has gone live with the system?
Thanking you in advance.
Hi Daniel
You need to look in the application event log on the machine running
the AOS - you will get more detail about what SQL Server is objecting
to.

Hi Anton,

Hi Mohit,
Thanks for the information.
For the changing of the area Id's in the virtual company must a SQL update be
done to achieve this? or can a AX job be sufficient?

Anisha,
This must be done via SQL Statement. The dataareaid can not be changed
from within Dynamics AX. Be careful though, because what you will have
to do is make sure you don't try to have duplicate data in the same
company.
For example if you have:
CustomerA, CustName, DA1
Hi ,
This is a feature allow you to summary many orders into one posting.
For example: you have 2 sales order from 2 customer accounts but have the same
invoice account. Then you can select 2 orders, and post to invoice.
The system then will post 2 orders to 1 invoice.
Hope this help.
Thanks

Hi Anisha,
You require a SQL update for the same.
Would suggest first do it in test environment.
