Suzanne, I don't research Sao Jorge and I'd have to look at a map. The nearest port to Sao Jorge is either Horta on Faial island or Angra on the island of Terceira. If the emigrant was going to HI, they had to leave out of Ponta Delgada on Sao Miguel, no matter which island they were originally
