Obviously we don't really want a repeat of this scenario at our next house

I'm the tick queen of the Western world. Sadly. Because of where we live -
Moorland, bracken, sheep - my dogs are veritable tick magnets. Plus, this
part of England never really gets cold enough to kill off ticks, thus I
begrudgingly pull off ticks all year round. I tried a variety of
My breeder and I were chatting on the week-end and, amongst many things,
came to the topic line breeding and litter size.
I recall someone posting that the closer the line (in)breeding the smaller
the size of the litter. I just can't remember who posted it ( Ruth? Rose?
Susan?) or when.

This is interesting...
It will be especially interesting to see how the fancy responds to this as

Hi Guys,
We use logs and waste wood to fuel our woodburner, and most of our dogs

Hi,
I looked after a Russian bred Frenchie for collegues of my husband. I had
the little tyke for three months and I would have to assume he came from a
good Russian breeder because he was a robust healthy little monster.
Frenchies are supposed to be people friendly but are a lot of dog in a

Hi,
I found this site (Puppynet) while browsing the net.
It definitely needs the presence of club contacts, and/or ethical breeders
for education/referral purposes

Dear Michaela
Santa is actually quite attached to his paws, he finds them useful for
begging activities and the liberal application of smelly, muddy concoctions
to the furniture. He's also not qualified to fly yet, but we're working on
it. In fact, he was nearly launched into space this

Hi All
First I have to thank everyone who has responded back to me. You all are
totally awsome! I showed my mom all the info sent to me..(she has a Leo) and
boy was she impressed with how our berner community really pulls together and
helps one another thru challenging times.
Today Maggie has

On March 1st she had 21 episodes, the longest episode lasting 27 minutes and
the shortest lasting 11 minutes. Since then most of her days have been like
this. The days that aren't so bad still

Liz, I know what you mean about the mini van, but when we got our first
Berner in 91 we realized that the almost brand new car we had would simply
not work with a big dog. We bought our first Oldsmobile
Silhouette.(License BERNRMOBL) It is now approaching 200,000 miles and the

I agree, it has been heartbreaking to read the L

dealing with illness and death this spring.
But to share a funny dog story from my pair. I had

Hello all. :)
I am in search of a trash can that my angels can't
get into, knock over, and play with.
I have one that you have to step on a pedal to open
the top, but the boys can lift the lid with their
noses, or ... just tip it over. I have actually
resorted to putting the trashcan outside
Last summer I gave my dogs Kyolic (brand) Odorless, organic garlic capsules
with Lecithin. In the Kyolic brand this is Formula 104. Each capsule has
600mg aged garlic extract powder and 380mg lecithin. Each Berner here gets
3 capsules in the morning and 3 with their evening meal, total 6
I am so sorry to hear this. Your dog is very special, and he had a good life
because he got to spend so much time playing and working with you, doing
agility, obedience, and carting, as evidenced by all those titles. Dogs love
nothing more than spending time with their owners.
He can play agility
