I use a prong collar on my 130# berner-boy, Ian if we are going places that he might
lunge or pull my arm off! Normally he is good on a round leather collar and will
stay by my side.
I feel it is better than choking him on a choke collar which can do damage to his
throat area. He behaves bette
Natalie.
This happened to my berner-boy, Ian, once when I had him groomed at a grooming
facility. They neglected to brush out his bib area and I spent a few days getting all
the mats out.
Since then, Ian is brushed well, and all mats gotten out before he is bathed.

It depends on which species of birds that your dogs decide to sing with
early in the AM.
I have found that the house wrens and cardinals are the first out at
about the break of daylight. My dogs become restless and want me to get
up at 6 AM. The don't sing with the bi

There would be NO WAY I, or any of my berner friends, would attend a
specialty in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
With the issues concerning puppy mills in that area and how I am against
such practices, I could not support this tragedy!
I lived and worked in Lancaster County for about 10 years and came

Dearest Kathy.
So very sorry to hear about Gunner. I know he was your baby boy and so dearly loved
beyond words.

My query is about moist dermatitis.
Ian has been plagued with this around the lower jaw where it comes to
meet the mouth area. That flap gets a black crust on it and up until
now,I have had good results washing it off with warm water and trying to
keep it dry.
I believed a sulfur soap to wash was r
First let me say, that here in NC we have watched this horrific story from day one!
This family lives just over the hills from us (Saluda, NC) and our hearts go out to
them as they lost their beloved pet in a botched up arrest!
It our conclusion that you cannot take the actions of one police off
Here at my house, I have the opposite problem! It is keeping our 1-yr old berner, Anna,
OUT of the tub when you are showering or bathing!
As we had company all day on New Year's day and they brought their 3 berner puppies,
there was a lot of mud on the porch, deck and on all the puppies and Anna.

Okay Vilma...
Now where do I find such a treasure?!? Does this material come in different
colors?
Also, being that you have more dogs than I do, guess I will have to increase my
household!
I love Corgis!! Have had Goldens and Labs in the past.
Does the Corgi herd your Berners?
Sigh, Caro
When we got our first berners about 8 years ago, our lives changed!
First. we had to get a van that carried two crates for show;
Second a home on 3 acres of cool woods so they can enjoy nature;
Third a high fence to keep them happy running and jumping , safely;
Fourth a new wardrob
I have always taught my dogs (my berners of today and other assortments
over the years) to go and sit on their special pods for a treat.
This "pod" can consist of a round bed in the great room like Anna has,
or the couch which Ian occupies. It can also be a towel placed on the
floor when treats are

Hi Jennifer...
May I ask where you got your berner (you did not tell me his name or how old he
is) in Tenn?
So far, I have just heard of the Southern berners 'talking'
Must be the water they drink or air they breath!! :-)
Anna's dog language also has different sounds and she is very vocal at times! A
true southern belle!

Thanks for the chuckle..I needed that!
