Has been great to see just how many other Berner owners also have horse and
ponies! Any pics forthcoming here? Happy to make up a special page on my
Friends Gallery!
I have just, very belatedly, (post bad gales here UK that set me way
behind!) uploaded some new pics from Carole and Tony's visit he

In addition to Augustus, his non-berner brother Scooter and our horse Blue,
we also breed Maine Coon Cats- the largest
their front legs. Our youngest female cat,
Desdemona, especially loves to run her luxurious tail under the dogs' chins as she

I'm sooo jealous of all of you! I've always wanted a horse!
I don't suppose there's anyone from the michigan area on the list with horses that
would let me come visit? (Might as well ask)

Hi,
My horse breed was English Thoroughbred, I love their intelligence but they
are high maintenance. I had to sell Red Eric because I didn't have enough
hours in the day and I don't bounce off the ground as well as I used
too:-))
When my mortgage is paid off I'd like a paint gelding:-)

I just knew that a lot of berner folk were also horse people. As both- and breeders
of very large Maine Coon cats- I once had a friend ask me (after seeing our berner)
what mental illness caused my need to be surrounded by giant creatures I am lucky
enough to be owned by Augustus, a 16 month o
Hi all,
So surprised that there are so many horse lovers. I grew up with a TB mare
and then got married and had kids. We moved to a farm after 10 years of
missing horses. And now we have 4 horses. Two Quarter horse geldings that
are wonderful with my kids and a Quarab filly and a Shetland pony

The Berner/horse thread is very interesting & not surprising to me as I've
found over the years that horse & dog owners have much in common. Since

I love horses. Just can't get how you snuggle on the couch with them. I
ride intermittently, but spent many years, at shows with a son who rode
English, jumped etc. on

Hi Everyone,
I could not believe this topic today when I went to read my mail. We left at

horse. We ride english and western. We are just pleasure ridi
For a number of years we had two horses in the family, both ridden by my
daughter. An American Saddlebred gelding who got used for everything from
English pleasure to eventing to costume classes, dressage, and ghymkanas - you
name it, he did it. Our serious competition horse was a Warmblood/Th

Love them both! Started out with two Appaloosas in the early 1980's,
Josie and Yamaha, who we rode Western only and into the mountains for
week-long horse camping trips. Then came those beautiful black Tennessee
Walking Horses (the glide ride) who are all-purpose. For those who think

No horses now...a move to the city put the pox on that.
In the past I have had mostly Quarter horse types. Had one Tennessee Walker,
and an Arabian. The last horse was a slaughter house reject, and he lived
for another 2 yrs, before succumbing to whatever was ailing him. We think he

Horse mackeral sushi (aji nigiri sushi) is as close as I get to horses.

I have a little dun grade mare that I ride for pleasure. Like the feel of
English or Aussie saddles to western (easier on my arthritic joints).
She's a good little mare and puts up with a lot from the dogs who have
all learned what getting too close to those back hooves can mean. I have
to admit, I

I don't have any now either. I can't afford what I like to ride, Arabians
