Bipeds, bipeds, bipeds. Tsk, Tsk. I thought my mom TOLD you already how to
avoid all those annoying people asking questions about us. Now sit, STAY,
and F-O-C-U-S, okay?
Dress yourself in shorts and tee shirt, sit on the floor and brush your dog
vigorously (but gently) -- give LOTS OF
I need your input with a seemingly daft question.
Here is the thing: I, thanks to our relatively dog friendly laws in cafes
and pubs, almost always have my boys in tow when I'm out and about. I enjoy
having them with me and they enjoy tagging along. So far, so good.
Both my boys are born
Hi Michaela,
Maybe you could order some breed baseball cards and say something like, I'm
sorry, I'm unable to talk about my dogs right now but would you like one of
these cards which will give you information on the breed?
Hand them the card and go back to your coffee.
You can educate, and have
Pat,
My husband and I have forced our poor berners to wear silly Santa hats now for two
years in our town's Christmas Stroll. This is what we have come up with so far.
We have stuffed the hats with bubble wrap so that they stand up. We then sew a small
strip of elastic to opposite sides of
Michaela:
Buy a packet of Berner Baseball Cards from Pat Long (the donation supports
BLEF, I believe). With a simple mailing label, you can (or maybe Pat will)
tailor the contact for further information section on the card to your
local Berner Club or yourself, if you are indeed willing to answer
When I dressed my Hannah Anna up as a Berner bride (to create -- at the
request of my step daughter-in-law -- an invitation to a
day-after-the-wedding family reception for 75 of her relatives), I finally
resorted to putting elastic on a white confirmation veil and running it
under the chin. Hannah
Michaela,
... Invariably, the person starts asking a thousand questions about
them. I AM flattered and I am normally only too happy to talk at length
about Bernese, but sometimes I would just like to have a conversation with
the friend I have come to meet, or drink my cup of coffee in peace and

Dear Radha and Smokey,
But when he eats a $200 cellphone, all of the
television remotes and rips newspapers to shreds, I
get to my wits end.
Biggest Berner Sympathy hugs here!
I have gone through similar things in the past with my various pups! Sam
would tear up towels and teatowels, Sunny

I am a new mom to a Berner pup now 11 weeks old. and aprox. 20 lbs. I
have no human children so I haven't delt with some of these problems.
1. Jack has had diarhea for about a week now but is acting fine
otherwise. The vet said to give him 1/2 tsp. of Imodium for 24-48 hours
and feed him plain

I am no expert on any of the issues you raise, but I know that my first
berner, when she was a puppy had continual diarrhea with no obvious cause
and no diminution of her energy level when she was on Pro Plan

Well, I was on a clean out my inbox spree ... And accidentally deleted
the email someone sent me on how he grooms his Berner .. D'OH!! The
archive on the list seems broken (links take to file not found)
So, if the person that sent me their tips could please resend them to me

Poor Farley was blasted right between the eyes the other night. (That kitty
wasn't very nice , Mom) Now the skin just below his nose is raw and
blistered. Any suggestions that might help, and that won't hurt him if he
licks it off? Thanks so much. This list always comes through!

Since I now use the word hug in a different context, I need a new

Hi Radha...my Titan, now 2, is EXACTLY the same way and it can be frustrating...I'm
told there is a stranger anxiety period for pups (just like for human babies) starting
about Smokey's age, too, although we didn't get Titan till he was 9 mos. and he was
shy from the

Subject: Annie I need your experiences with old dogs, might acupuncture
help?
Hi All,
I think I'm probably on a road to nowhere with this, but there's no
harm in trying...
As you may remember, Annie will be 12 in January and has been in
failing health since I got home from the Specialty
