I have a couple of suggestions which might enhance search functionality
out of the box (ie without having to construct custom search)

I am using syncronizing players very frequent and I mostly use SB
Classics, so Menu order is set via LMS Web page (Server settings -
Player - Menues)
So, instead of moving though submenues, it would be great to be able to
have Sync in the main menue.

i'd really like to see playcounts, and the ability to build playlists
off same, with dynamic updating. for instance, all tracks that contain
the genre Jazz, and have been played fewer than 2 times.
you can probably do this with some combination of erlands plugins, but
it's very kludgy (IMO). iTu

Yes, I already use Erlands plugins. But I was thinking as a simple mechanism
to mainstream use, the ability to save search criteria as a favourite, to bring
back live results is a good idea.
Advanced find can always be extended to provide add

Once consequence of combining albumartists, artists and composers as I
discussed above is that neither iPeng or Squeeze Commander can cope with
the number of entries (close to 300k tracks) and the Artist browse

For quite some time I
I understand that favourites were initially for streams (eg. on-line radio
channels), and it was useful to click a favourite and immediately start playing
that source. However, when making an artist or genre a favourite, it's really
not all that useful.
Fully agreed. Hmm... I think some work
Allow users to save searches as
named dynamic playlists (save the search/SQL itself, not a list of
files).
This would be most welcome. Could offer buttons on the search/advanced search pages to "Save

Ralphy,
I did add new files last night, but the one causing the scanner to crash
has been in the library for 3+ years.
Did you change anything else in your library? Eg. a perl update? This
file isn't crashing here. Can you reproduce this crash?
