As we're moving from SlimServer to SqueezeCenter we're also going to rename
some of the more important files. Most importantly: the executable files
themselves. If you're running any kind of automatic update script, customized
Windows service or init scripts, prepare for some changes:

Please note that the we've migrated the Mac OSX and Windows installers.

I'm happy to report on the debian one as and when it gets done - will
the deb installer remove all the old directories and files, and
username/groups as well as adding the new ones?

On Windows we use the existing folders to prevent loss of the preferences etc.

I had a bunch of issues this morning after installing the 10/1 build on
Windows XP.
I didn't get to fully research them, unfortunately.
The install process went OK, it was afterwards that there were issues.

Did you remove the Program Files/SlimServer folder, too? In which folder
did SC7 install?
I just noticed that we're probably having a problem with machine on which

I did the uninstall and then deleted all of the SlimServer
sub-directories and the SlimServer directory itself. I didn't go into
the registry (figuring that the uninstall would do that, etc.).

Yep. And that might be the problem with SqueezeTray: it will always look
in a squeezecenter folder. I'll have to fix this. Please file a bug with
all your details
This is the registry setting that appears to be left by the

I just tried installing the Windows 2007-10-03 nightly on top of the

The installation succeeded (complete with a new "Uninstalling

Squeezecenter always fails to start up. Looking in the event viewer, I

I see SqueezeCenter and SqueezeMySQL. No sign of any Slim services
However, I do have a Sl
A bit more info:
If I manually start the SqueezeMySQL service, it starts correctly. If I
then manually start the SqueezeCenter service, the service starts and
immediately shuts down. And the SqueezeMySQL service also shuts down at
the same time.
I get the following 3 entries in the event viewer

You don't use McAfee, do you? Do you remember whether you ever had to tell your
AV scanner to ignore some files?

Just tried rebooting. The rogue SlimTray.exe is no longer there, so I
guess there was some problem with shutting it down during the
uninstall. But the startup problem is still there, with identical error
messages in the event log.

So do I.
Googled for that error and found the following:
"errno 121 means a duplicate key error. Probably the table already exists in
the InnoDB internal data dictionary, though the .frm file for the table has
been deleted. This is the most common reason for getting err
On a Windows XP machine, will SC 7 install correctly on top of an

I'd assume yes. But keep in mind that SC7 is still beta, and the installer
has been partly rewritten a few days ago. So there hasn't been much
testing yet. I'll be happy to add you to th
