SOMETIMES IT PAYS TO BE AT WORK-TODAY AT 2:45 PM, A SWALLOW TAILED KITE FLEW
OVERHEAD OF THE DEALERSHIP PARKING LOT I WORK AT. IT WAS ABOUT 200 FT IN THE
AIR AND HEADING DUE SOUTH TOWARDS BIG CREEK AREA. OUR DEALERSHIP IS LOCATED ON
SIMCOE ST RIGHT IN AMHERSTBURG. AMHERSTBURG IS LO
Either this is a new drake or the Eurasian Wigeon that disappeared from the
marsh early last week has returned. It was foraging in front of the GM
platform at 5pm

A beautiful day for birding The Islands and today I came up with 86 species
with only 13 Waterfowl and 1 Shorebird Species but a great day it was and
tomorrow will be better (I can only hope).
I started at Wards Island as usual and by the time I got to Hanlans Point 9

Hi Ontbirders,
I birded the Winchester Sewage Lagoon early this afternoon & found a Ross'
Goose along with 60-70 Canada Geese. It remained for about ten minutes & then
flew off towards the south. I was unable to relocate it.
The water level in the lagoon is fairly high but there is

recorded, new ones for the year or in numbers were Cape May,

reported seeing them in the AM and he said that they flew off heading west
and then south. I searched the shore from Oliphant to Red Bay with no luck.

New arrivals over the past 10 days are Bobolink, Eastern Kingbird,
White-crowned Sparrow, Baltimore Oriole, Ruby-throated Hummingbird, Bank and
Cliff Swallows, Spotted Sandpiper, Caspian Tern, Northern Waterthrush,
Nashville Warbler, Black-throated Green and Brewer's Blackbird.
