The Adult Hoary Redpoll(?"frosty white")?was seen this Saturday AM by a few
birders on the front (East) feeder.

4 swans flying westward over the St.Laurence river.They were about 1000 ft.

Holland Landing. It was on Bathurst st. past Queensville Sideroad. I

had been feeding on a neighbours crabapple tree. One of the Robins

This morning the Hilda Rd. feeder area was a flurry of activity as the area
Marlin wow'd the photographers and birders. He was in search of some
morning doves, but didn't capture any while we were there. He was very
patient and gave us all some great views.
The Northern
Birder owl woods today and was able to locate 6 Northern Saw-Whet; 2 Long
Eared, & 1 Barred owl. 1 Male Rednecked Pheasant put in a brief appearance
on the south side of the jack pine plantation. At the owl woods bird
feeders were good numbers of common redpoll (no Hoary observed) & 1

We saw 1 mature Bald Eagle over the 401 east of Brockville and 1 juvenile
and 3 mature Bald Eagles within 2-3 km of Ivy Lea along the St. Lawrence

The West Humber Naturalists had a field trip today that started in Kleinburg
and ended in the Holland Marsh west of Newmarket. Along Huntington Road west
of Kleinburg we had one light-morph Rough-legged Hawk, several Red-tails, three
different Northern Mockingbirds, three Horned Larks, a Pileat
I scoped the lake from the Leslie St Spit to Victoria Park Ave for several
hours today and did not see the Western Grebe. None of the several bird
groups, that I met, had seen it either. Never-the-less, the bird could still
be about (it is a big lake).
I did see a flock of 8 White-winged Crossb
Male and female Surf Scoter in the bay between Pipits Point and the
Lighthouse, close to shore.
I didn't have any luck finding the Western grebe at the Spit or at
Ashbridges Bay this morning.

The pine grosbeaks were feeding in my crabapple tree again this morning, about
6 females. I went out with the camera and was taking some pictures when my
neighbour pulled in with his truck and scared them off, that's when the whole
flock joined up in mid-air and I realized there were a lot mor
