Like many birders we were intrigued by the recent report of a
Black-chinned Hummingbird in Scarborough, Toronto. It hasn't been
seen again. Ross Lamb kindly sent us photos, which we sent to
hummingbird expert Nancy Newfield of Metairie, Louisiana. Nancy has

There has been a slow but steady movement of normal May arrivals at
Presqu'ile Provincial Park in the past week. Soon there is bound to be
a day when warblers and other colourful migrants are swarming
everywhere. Meanwhile, visits to the beach and Owen Point are becoming
more fruitful. By th
Hi Birders,
We visited the location of the Ruff today at around 4:30 PM
We stood around for a while. At one point all the shorebirds took into the
air.
Looked around and sure enough a Peregrine Falcon made a flyby.
The birds went very high and disappeared to the direction of North-West.

typically a little later. The

Greetings!
It was noisy today but the birds were difficult to spot. In the bowl we saw
sparrows (Chipping, White Throated, and White Crested) and some warblers. A
Blackburnian and a Palm and a bunch of shadows jumping from branch to
branch.
We then went to the lakeshore and saw a cooperative Yello
Hello Ontbirders.
The change of weather overnight has swept more warblers into Rondeau. In
the fog this morning, birders managed to relocate yesterday’s Prairie Warbler
at the Pony Barn parking lot. An Orange-crowned Warbler was also seen nearby,
along Harrison Trail beyond the red gate.
Hello Birders, The Ruff was still present this morning at 10:45am north of
Oakville on Brittannia and 8th line. I got a 10-15 min. look through my scope
before it flew north with about 10 Lesser Sandpipers because it was startled by
a Northern Harrier flying over 8th line. It didn't return so I

It was pretty quiet at Sam Smith Park this morning. I heard and viewed a
blue-winged warbler in the bushes to the east of the marina. After visiting the
bowl I saw the bird again on the west side of the path beside the small stream.
There also was a Lincoln's Sparrow.
Other sightings included:
This a delayed message: A male Hooded Warbler was by myself and Bruce
Wilkinson actively singing and feeding in large cedar on north-western
corner of 'Bowl'. Also we found at least four Indigo Buntings, 2
Scarlet Tanagers and about 20 Rose-breasted Grosbeaks in large
deciduous trees to the eas
This a delay message from yesterday: I found male Golden-winged

of northern-most bridge crossing the creek in the park. The male

Yesterday at about 9:00 a.m. my wife and I saw a pair of Upland Sandpipers
in a pond on Everatt SR (north of Ferndale and east of Hwy 6). This is the
same area where a pair of the same species spent most of the summer last
year so hopefully they are setting up shop again.

Hello all, Apologies for the late notice. I didn't access the
information until late yesterday evening A RUFF was discovered
on Tuesday 05 May at the Marais des Grenouillettes near Gatineau /

I returned to Richmond fen last night between 10:30pm and 1:30am. Upon my
arrival I could easily hear three WHIP-POOR-WILLS calling from Marlborough
Forest - one seemed to be close to the end of Kettles Road, but it stopped
calling shortly thereafter and was not located. About four AMERICAN W
