Today was gorgeous at Cranberry Marsh! Lots of great company at the hawk watch.
Doug Lockrey even came by for a visit thx to Alan Woods and the miracle of
Doug's wheel chair - what a great treat for all of us! A few late straggling
hawks came through to brighten the day as well.

it was the turn of SANDHILL CRANES.
Cynthia Cook down Glendale Beach Rd. had 4 flocks of SANDHILL CRANES totalling
325 birds moving SW down the shore of Lake Huron. By 3pm. the movement was

Ross Snider, James Holdsworth and I had a great day of late fall migrant
watching along the Lake Huron shoreline in southern Huron County between
Grand Bend and Bayfield. The weather forecast was for moderate E winds
at Goderich and NE winds at Kincardine, farther north along the lake
which
Jean and Blayne Farnan just called to say they observed a single Cave Swallow
with a Northern Rough-winged Swallow in flight over Lake Erie at Morgan's Point
in Burnaby. The two birds flew low and close to the shoreline around the rocks
at the foot of Morgan's Point Road.

The incredible warm and sunny
November we have been enjoying here in the south-west was bound to bring a few
surprises. Snow and Ice are most certainly soon to be upon us.
But today was fairly uneventful for birds
