Three Brant Geese were at at Andrew Hayden Park in west Ottawa yesterday
afternoon. When I arrived at 3:45 they were on the water in the west pond and
then moved up onto the park lawns to feed for the next hour. They were mixed
in with about a dozen Canada Geese. Photo link below

Nov. 2 - The Brown Booby was found by Gerry Rising at 230 Mohawk Point
Road in Lowbanks, Ontario.
The Booby is not doing well and may need a wildlife rehibilitator.
Mohawk Point is the point east of Rock Point P. P. and about 30 miles west
of Fort Erie, Ontario. For more detailed
If the Booby is captured, I suggest trying Toronto Wildlife Centre as a
rehabilitation option http://www.torontowildlifecentre.com. No one will
be equipped to handle a Booby, but they may be the best option locally.
If someone does pick the bird up, please consider sending me a feather or

At 9:25 this morning I received a cell phone call from Kayo Roy that the

in Lowbanks, Ontario, had just flown off, heading out into the lake and
toward Rock Point Provincial Park (that is, away from Buffalo). The bird

As reported by Brandon Holden yesterday, the Cattle Egret is still present in
the little horse pasture west of Wheatley on Mersea Rd. 21 south of Deer Run Rd.
Now, for that other bird...?

Also, appears to be a drake Mallard/Pintail hybrid here as well.Dominant mallard features, with narrow blue bill and short pintail being the exceptions.

Today's trip to Hawk Cliff didn't produce many migrant hawks, due to nearly
constant rain. However, we still managed to see some good birds,
highlighted by a Baird's Sandpiper at Port Stanley Lagoons, a Greater

Birders,
I joined Kayo Roy, Blaine and Jean Farnan and Gerry Rising this morning
along the road to Mohawk Point on Lakle Erie just west of Lowbanks,

It was very sad to see the Brown Booby huddled, sleeping and shivering
right beside the road in exactly the same spot as
Hi Jeff
