long-tailed duck (2 females)
northern pintail (1 drake)
green-winged teal (1 drake)
glaucous gull (1 flying east over peche island)
bald eagle (1 male on the island)
hooded mergansers (several dozen between St. Rose and Little
Migration is on in Windsor!
I had the following in and around Little River this afternoon:

black and white warbler
yellow warbler
magnolia warbler
blue grey gnatcatcher
grey catbird

Yesterday evening at the big creek mudflats held lots of interesting stuff.
The number of great-blue herons and great egrets remains very high. As well,
we noted the following:
black-crowned night heron (25+ - mostly found in the trees on the northwest
side of the creek, north of

Little River has had a lot of birds lately. Here's a few noteworthy (I

good evening, all.
i had a female rose breasted grosbeak on the east side of the hill at little
river today, about 5.00pm.
also present were numerous winter wrens, and the usual fall sparrows and
kinglets.
further south of the hill, still east of the creek, there were at least 3
fox sparrows,
just to prove that you can wake up at noon and still see birds in your own
backyardin your pajamas

kingfisher (1): down little river
there are huge numbers of swans, redheads, common mergansers, scaup,
canvasbacks, buffleheads goldeneyes and the like all very close to shore at
the marina. the tundra swans seemed to have moved on already.
