white bird with a very long curved bill. I e-mailed back asking for details

It was seen the week of April 22 in a flooded field along Belgrave Rd (County

Could be a domestic Black Call Duck. This breed was derived from the
Mallard but is considerably smaller. It comes in a variety of colours
including glossy black. They usually have some them entered at the Royal
Winter Fair.

I'm posting this for Tys Theysmeyer, who saw a White Pelican around Hickory
Island in Cootes Paradise this afternoon. Hickory Island can be viewed from
several vantage points around Cootes Paradise.
The closest view is from the Marsh Boardwalk along the north shore of Cootes
Paradise.

Spent some time this afternoon east of Hagersville, looking for the longspurs
pipits horned larks reported earlier.
Lots of Water Pipits (40 plus) along the Walpole 10th Con Rd, both east and
west of Cheapside Rd some distance south of Regional Rd 20 out of Hagersville.
