A great finish to the end of the Festival of Flight here in Rondeau Provincial
Park. Some great rare migrants have been popping up in the park. A Kentucky
Warbler made an appearance on the West end of South Point Trail as well as a

A stunning day to be outside and to be birding! A Worm-eating Warbler was seen
this morning in and around the first 100 meters of Harrison Trail by the Pony

Spring is moving quite quickly in Rondeau with the leaves slowly coating the
canopy. Blackpoll Warblers have moved in steadily, indicating the approach of

A good start to the day with a fair movement of birds through the park. A
Cerulean Warbler was found on Water St this morning. A Hooded Warbler and

The two Black-necked Stilts are still giving fantastic views in the flooded

A few exciting sightings this morning. A Yellow-breasted Chat was spotted just
south of 17546 Lakeshore Rd. A Golden-winged Warbler was found on the West end

yesterday has been showing well this morning at 17458 Lake Shore Rd. The owners
of the house request birders to stay close to the road which will still provide

Strong North-east winds today have pushed the birds to the West side of the
park. A Canada Warbler was seen at the North-end of Harrison Trail. An Acadian
flycatcher was found on South Point and Harrison intersection. A female Evening

A fantastic morning for birds in Rondeau. South Point Trail has been a hub of
activity, with several great birds that have been found. A Yellow-breasted Chat
was found at the Tip of South Point along with groups of Tanagers and flocks of
A torrential downpour this afternoon with little to report. The Eared grebe at
the Blenheim Sewage lagoons continues to show well along with Bobolinks. The
Glossy Ibis was seen again at Keith McLeans. A Prothonotary Warbler gave great

A lovely morning with quite a bit of action. Marsh Trail and Water St was a hub
of activity this morning with 22 warbler species including Blue-winged, Canada,
and Mourning Warbler. Spicebush Trail was also excellent with Hooded Warbler

A cold and windy day here in Rondeau with smaller numbers than yesterday’s
winged whirlwind. A Prothonotary Warbler has been showing well on Tulip Tree
along with the female Hooded Warbler that has been there the past week. Another

Huge numbers of birds in the park this afternoon, with Yellow-rumped, Palm,
Northern Parula, and Nashville Warblers leading the group in the hundreds. A
Golden-winged Warbler was found on the north end of Rondeau Rd along with a

A blur of activity this morning with a strong wave of migrants headed north all
across the park. Several hundred warblers have been seen streaming across the

An exciting morning to start off the day here in Rondeau. 20 Species of
Warblers have been seen in the past few hours primarily in the north end of the
park. Hooded and Blue-winged warblers were seen on Harrison along with well

A few new birds have shown up this afternoon. A Mourning Warbler was found at
the Visitor Centre that gave tremendous views by the feeders. A Cape May
Warbler and Chestnut-sided were both seen at Beach Access #2 which bring the

A somewhat a quiet afternoon with low numbers but still a wonderful group of
new spring migrants. A Grasshopper Sparrow was seen at the visitor center late

The birding action has slowed down in the park, despite good conditions on this
beautiful day!
Spicebush has been the hotspot for birding activity this afternoon with a few

A relatively slow morning here in Rondeau after a fantastic day yesterday.
Birds are in few numbers throughout the park.
The birds that are here are sticking low or are on the ground when feeding and
in result are giving excellent views.

Overall a fantastic day to go birding in the park. 25 Species of Warblers in
the park and over 120 species of birds have been sighted in today.
The birds are well spread out with action coming from almost every trail in the

in a busy morning. 27 Species of Warblers reported this morning throughout the
park as well as 6 species of Vireos.

The day has remained fairly slow for bird activity with the exception of
Harrison Tail south of Bennett Rd. Birds are staying high in the mature trees

The birds are staying high up in mature trees within the north end of the park.
The beginning of Harrison Trail starting at Pony Barn has been the best spot

A drake Eurasian Wigeon is present at the Erieau Marsh Trail. I found the bird
in Rondeau Bay from the first wooden structure 500 meters from the trail head.
The EUWI was approximately a KM out on the bay looking south from the tower.

The day has remained slow for bird activity today. Pony Barn and the
Maintenance Loop are the best spots for birding this afternoon with several
warbler species present.

A few enjoyable sightings in the afternoon with the continuation of the birds
staying in the north end of the park. The water is calm in Rondeau Bay making
waterfowl viewing prime. Both the Maintence area including the Log Pond have

Despite the low overall numbers today birding has still been a success with
many good reports coming in. Following the similar pattern over the past five
days the birds are staying primarily in the north end of the park. Maintenance

Despite low numbers in Rondeau today, the diversity is still high! The Kentucky
warbler was re-found today on the section of Water St near the Marsh Trail
parking lot around 12:00. The female Cerulean Warbler has been and is still

A busy morning here at Rondeau, with the birds following the same pattern as
the past few days. The action is primarily in the north end of the park at
Maintenance Trail as well as the Marsh Trail. Three Prothonotary Warblers have
been spotted on Bennett
This morning was excellent at Rondeau on our fourth day celebrating the
Festival of Flight. Marsh Trail, Pony Barn as well as the Maintenance area have
been hotspots for birding activity with most sightings coming from those
trails. Birds are staying low in cover and out of the wind.
