In the past hour, 1 Hermit Thrush feeding at Euonymus shrubs in backyard of 71
Alexander St., and perched, wagging tail along fence. It flew to 76 Alexander
St across the street, fed at Euonymus there, and was photographed perched on a
wire and in silver maple. Current conditions: -11 C,
A flock of twenty Sandhill Cranes flew low over East Hill, Belleville, on the
Bay of Quinte, in V-formation, this morning at 745, heading NW. They were
calling throughout the time my family and I watched them.

With a cold north wind whipping over the bay toward the Presqu'ile Gov't Dock
and area yesterday morning, there were lots of diving ducks, but few dabblers
(should have gone to Barcovan Bay apparently according to the Peterborough
Field Nats).

Yesterday around 5 pm at Kingston's Invista warm water pond I had the pleasure
of the red-necked grebe and a snowy owl in the same field of view. The snowy
was on the lakeside breakwater, on the ground, looking left and right to open
water on both sides, and lots of waterfowl.

About 25 Rusty Blackbirds at 472 Co. Rd. 10, just south of Ridge Rd., in a line
of conifers near the house, very vocal;
Adult Bald Eagle visible in treeline along shore of Timber Island, from the
Bird Observatory;
Today at 10:30 am, NE corner of Dug Hill Rd., and Hwy 2, Trenton, a flock of
100 Snow Buntings, foraging in grasses 50 m from Hwy 2.

it was a Loggerhead, but we're not 100% sure. It was neither
seen nor heard on two subsequent visits (Sunday, Monday).
Turn 180 degrees from this oak stand, look to the sheep farms
easternmost buildings, and you may see the male peacock in full display
with two peahens!

Our first GB Heron was seen today on the Moira River at Station Street
in downtown B'ville, while Grackles settled in number in our backyard
just this Monday.

am this day), mixed flock of waxwings dominated in number by 10s (200-300?) of
Bohemian Waxwings. In treetops, calling constantly, but also down to eye level,
