This afternoon at about 4pm Shane Butnari and I scoped out a white-fronted
goose amongst several dozen Canada geese on Big Creek in Amherstburg.
Head south on County Road 20, follow it past "Ducks on the Roof" restaurant and
until the road turns east.The goose was on the north (left) side of the
I spotted 3 cackling geese amongst hundreds of Canada geese this afternoon in
River Canard.
Directions: from Windsor, go south on Malden Rd. to Canard Drive, turn left on
Canard Drive and look for all the geese on the right.

I didn't see it mentioned on Stephens HBMO report, an American bittern flew by
the trout pond at about 1pm.

This is in addition to Paul's earlier post.
Between 3 of us at Spring Garden this morning we recorded 23 warbler species,
including golden-winged, blue-winged, parula, bay-breasted, cape may and
wilson's. The highlight of the day for me though was a terrified green heron
that came squaking out
at the southwest corner of Essex County.

I also saw the bird at very close range this morning when I was on my way to
Pelee and agree that it is a white-faced ibis, based on the same field marks
mentioned by Michael.
It was not there on my way back at 3pm

This morning on the way to dropping my boy off at school I spotted a small
egret in a field in Amherstburg. Closer inspection revealed it to be a cattle
egret.
To get to the spot take County Road 20 South until you reach Alma St. Go left
(East) on Alma approx 2km until you reach Meloche R
.
