One American Wigeon (Baldpate) drake was observed on Lake Simcoe
swimming leisurely amongst a group of Canada geese regulars at Bonnie
Park at Jackson's Point at 1:00 p.m. in the afternoon Tuesday December
10. The bird can be seen easily from the car at the Bonnie Park beach.

A pair of American wigeon was the reward for birding in outrageously windy
conditions today at Wellington harbour.
Directions: take highway 33 east from the center of Wellington and turn right
at the LCBO. The dock is straight ahead. The wigeon are hiding among the Canada
geese east of the
Male American Wigeon seen this afternoon at the end of Birch Street In
Collingwood. Not quite full breeding plumage. Skittish with people and dogs
bit will come right into boat ramp using car as a blind. The Mute Swans are in
breeding mode and protecting their space.

At lunch today Deb Stevenson and I went looking for the male Northern Pintail
on the Rideau River in Manotick (just south of Ottawa). We found him resting
on the ice on the north side of the bridge near the bend. While scanning the

On this, the last weekend of the winter list, Carolyn King and I visited Humber
Bay East in the late afternoon. There was a male American Wigeon in immaculate
plumage just offshore at the southeast point. Other interesting waterfowl
