Last evening I tried to convince myself I saw a Lark Sparrow, but I wasn't
able to confirm the sighting until this evening when a Lark Sparrow did
appear on the wires around 7:10 P.M. on the Walsingham West Quarterline Rd,
between RR#60 and the 4th Concession (dirt 4th through Wilson Tract).

Lark Sparrow seen September 3 at 5:10 p.m. in the town of Warren, 32 km.
from Sturgeon Falls on Hwy 17. It was with a flock of other sparrows,
mainly Chipping Sparrows. The flock was on the move and I have only had an
opportunity to report sighting now.

Initially flushed like drab Towhee at dawn, showing white tail sides, but had
grey rump and streaks on uppersides. Face pattern diagnostic. Seen hopping

Just after 5 p.m. on Friday I found a first basic Lark Sparrow at Birch Point
about 5 km west of South Baymouth on the Lake Huron shoreline. Location is on
private land and can be accessed only by boat or walking (rugged stretches!)

I relocated the Lark Sparrow yesterday at 3:45 pm just as I was about to give
up. It was inside a shrub along the east-west fence beside a pile of discarded
industrial rubber. It took about 30 minutes of searching in a small area. I
did not inspect it but there appears to be a functioning ten

The Lark Sparrow was easily seen coming into seed placed on a mound just west
of the first two first gulf trailers along the gravel path. Nice bird in a
strange location. An easy tick although someone has taken up residence in a
tent about 50 feet away.

The Lark Sparrow was present at the same location, just east of the Don Roadway
this afternoon (3:30 pm). It was hanging out with about 6-8 Dark-eyed Juncos,
where the seeds had been placed by the blue post.

The Lark Sparrow is still braving the cold here in Toronto. It was foraging on
the pavement on the opposite side of the fence from the pathway, near a red
shed.
We parked on Villiers, and walked north just past Lakeshore. The pathway the
bird has been seen along is just right

briefly before flying into the landfill sight and landing in a large pile of
garbage. Given the cold weather this morning, the bird will almost certainly

Good morning all,
Yesterday, in the late afternoon, Brian Pfrimmer and Ray Laughlen discovered a
Lark Sparrow at the Haliburton Landfill. The bird was feeding in the weeds
along the roadside and was oblivious to nearby passing cars. It spent most of
its time along the E side of the road, from
There is a Lark Sparrow on Ward's Island, very near the ferry docks. It was
originally found this morning by Bill Smith and Peter McParland.
I just relocated it, feeding in the grass at the north end of the open field by
the island cafe. This is due south of the Wards Island ferry docks.

This evening at 6:45pm I found a Lark Sparrow at Lemoine Point Conservation
Area, Kingston. It was initially in with a flock of juncos, taking grit from
the side of the trail but I lost it after a few minutes due to the birds
being disturbed by numerous walkers etc. After about another 20 minutes,
Chris Gaffan and I just found a juvenile Lark Sparrow at Point Pelee. It is
currently in the parking lot of The Tip.
Point Pelee is located on Point Pelee Drive, slightly Southeast of Leamington
in Essex County.

I'm glad i braved the wind and rain today! At 2:50 PM I found a Lark Sparrow at
the Erieau pier. The bird is in the company of several Horned Larks, and is in
the grassy area next to the sand/gravel piles next to the parking area. I'll
