elf. I ended up building MesaLib-6.5 plus MesaGLUT-6.5 packages then just copied the compiled Mesa-6.5/lib/libGLU.* and include/GL/glu.h to /usr/lib and /usr/include/GL. I think it is going to work. something else? The Xorg Applications section recommends it be installed. The Xorg Server section instructions are a little complex,I understand disabling dri,glx, and xfprint in configure, should I leave out the two sed lines that refer to mesa? when building xorg server.

I had the same trouble with cp so I have done this; cd to the partition you want to move and tar cvpf - .|(cd /mnt/hda6; tar xvpf - .) Seems to work better.
