On the view menu, there's an option for text size, where the default seems
to be medium, but it offers sizes all the way up to largest, so it might be
worth trying out. this is in the view menu by pressing alt+ v
while in an open message and arrowing down to text

I am using the Andre Louis Sound Scheme and love it. Can't remember where I
downloaded it from but it's free and offers lots of great sound effects.
You could also add you own sound choices to your current sound scheme if you

It is most likely the PDF's are actually a scanned image. An OCR programme
like OpenBook or Kurzweil 1000 will allow you to recognize the image and
therefore allow you to read the PDF documents that way. There are perhaps
cheaper options, like Abbyy Finereader as well.
