It is most likely the PDF's are actually a scanned image. An OCR programme like OpenBook or Kurzweil 1000 will allow you to recognize the image and therefore allow you to read the PDF documents that way. There are perhaps cheaper options, like Abbyy Finereader as well. -- Chris Hallsworth E-mai
