Any meter will give some small reading when probes are not connected to
anything, it's just picking up small magnetic fields on the probe wires from
all the junk in our world These readings have no effect on calibration of
the unit or on readings taken from actual voltage or other sources.

I almost always find most ohm meters give a very low reading with the probes
touching.
Unless you are actually wirking with very small resistances this reading
which shouldn't be more than a few tenths of an ohm, won't matter.
