I liked the Galactica miniseries, but it felt emotionally

I don't think this is really so bad; if the farmers agree to those
restrictions, and we aren't dealing with a situation analogous to
'click-through licenses', then they can hardly complain.

Legally speaking, this just sounds like a breach-of-contract
case. If the contract had the provision that the farmer could
save seed for replanting the next year, then there would be
no problems. But I doubt that's the case.
