I've tutor on, analysis and eval at World Class (2-ply). When I ask for a
hint, all the moves are
at 0-ply (?!) while if I analyze the game, the 1st 2 moves are at 2-ply, as
I would expect.
Is this normal ?
This happens
Building with CVS 20090403 shows it is fixed.
Thank you Christian

Windows build 20090402 on gnubg.org
(but this behaviour isn't new, i just couldn't reproduce it till now)
Bug: Play a move from the bar, ask for a hint, double click the first
move (your move) and you get: Illegal move
Reproduction:
Start a 7-point match with tutor and manual dice
First roll 23
Windows build on gnubg.org (and latest CVS on Vista and Ubuntu)
After analysing a match and doing a rollout, sometimes gnubg crashes
with an assertian failure.
Reproduce:
Load the attached .mat file
Analyse that game
Go to move 1 (64 for rvg)
Select the first 2 moves ( 11/5 8/4* and 24/18* 8/4*)
Start a new 7-point match with the manual dice box checked.
In the window that shows the 36 possible rolls, simply click on Close,
without selecting a roll.
The message (Interrupted) appears.
Then click on the dice area on the board, as if requesting a roll.
gnubg segfaults.

Christian.
Today's CVS indeed fixed that one.

Today's CVS - Changelog 20090322 - build on Windows 'freezes' GNU
Backgammon after (your turn, no dice) Hint - Rollout cube action -
Stop
It's the same freeze as in earlier versions: one can move the rollout
window, but not close it.
The earlier 'freeze' (Hint *after* dice roll, select moves,
The Hint - Rollout - Freeze issue seems to be vanished.
Latest CVS (March 12th), build with Ubuntu and Vista.

It also happens with single threat, and not only the build on
gnubg.org, but also self build on Vista.
And Ubuntu 8.10 build with 20090308 snapshot also freezes, without
threats and with threats.
GNU Backgammon freezes (Vista and Ubuntu) after Hint, RollOut, stop the rollout.
