Hi Jörg, As this happens after 1 MB (= than the RAM size) it may be a buffer underrun. Check transfer speeds. It however looks like the drives does not like the medium. Call cdrecord -atip Hmm, I'm not sure - I managed to burn several of these disks using growisofs, and then

Given the troubles I've been having with my current DVD+/-RW drive, I've been asking around and have the opportunity of getting a Pioneer DVR-A06 as an alternative. But before I spend yet more cash - what experiences have people had with this drive under linux? TIA, -- Ian

Rob, Fiddled about with hdparm in case my DMA settings were a problem, no better. I hope that means that you saw that DMA was on. You want DMA, and if the DMA doesn't come on by itself, it sometimes means it will have problems (my DVD-104 needed an update to 1.40 firmware before
