oh, I imagine this would get treated in the same way ebay treats a bum
transaction... it is documented and ca be used to weigh the credibility of
the user name. That's the way I understand it, anyway, the database
apparently did go down because when you start looking for info it tells you

Oh okay, that makes a lot more sense then... although I'd suspect they'd want to keep
that data as a record of the poster throwing allegations around... but that's a whole
other story...

ya well, once you have done QA you get a little compulsive about it. I
like the gallery layout. One thought, when you start using it for real,
might want to have bigger fewer pictures per page. More fun that way. Or
not - the other hand of this is of course that you will totally bog down

The problem that occurred with me as well. The real error is an expired
session but for some reason I haven't added in the code to catch the error
yet.

Oh, are you talkng about the bottom trash can? I believe the that is what
happens if the subject of the email denies the allegation (ie Bill is
bopping interns) and the poster of the information does not reply to the
email asking them if they stand by the information. If the poster says that

I thought that the first time I looked at it.
However, I believe you are looking at what happens if you do not answer the
confirmation email after you post information. In other words say I have
info I am dying to share. I post it and receive an email asking me to
confirm that I made the post. I
Looks to me like according to the workflow diagram at the bottom that anything that
would reflect negatively on someone just ends up in the trash after a week or 2...
Makes me wonder why they say that nothing gets deleted and then they're using
trash-can icons (usually associated with deletion)
A bunch of publications have picked up the story now and the server was
down (overloaded?) for a while earlier, but I think this is a really
excellent idea by people who have the resources to carry it out. I
certainly plan to use it.
I also like the touch of allowing information to be refuted but
::nod:: you ever had one of those calls where you spend forty minutes on

doh, it is a link getting this now though, But although it says it is a
critical error I can still click the link and the pictures display well
more detailed feedback later.

It happens quite a bit anyway; I would say I saw it about 4-5 times a week.
But the AOL thing was consistent enough to make me wonder if it was a
deliberate marketing decision on their part. It sure does make AOL look
easier.

bah .. it doesn't even take AOL to do a number on Win 98's TCP/IP stuff. I
can't count the number of times I have to walk someone through removing and
reinstall DUN in a single day, on 2 hands. It seems like often Win 98 just
gets a wild notion that it wants to stop routing. Stupid OS.

Having gone through things like this on occasion (more often than I'd like
to remember) I would guess that the breaking point is probably the database.
It's fairly easy to run two sites in parallel when they both attach to the
same data sources. However if, for this upgrade, they significantly ch

It doesn't seem like best practice, no.
Some companies just aren't there yet. There are two local weekies here; one
has an attractive, well-thought-out website which archives past issues and
is easy to navigate. The other has a page that says "Under Construction."
