I can't help with the data recovery, sorry.
However I would consider looking at the cause: if the drive is clicking it's
probably that the read/write is striking the platter. This can be caused by
heat: is the machine that this drive was in ventilated and cooled enough for
it?Drives get hot

I think he's right. He does need to get out of the business.
First, the deal with the NICs and speeds isn't MS's fault. That's whoever
that hardware vendor is. I've had similar problems.
As for the cascading upgrade, that's the way things are. You upgrade one
piece and you will inevitably have
I think had he merely updated his MDAC drivers (available for free) he would
have lost the opportunity to be so stressed.and lessened his requirements
for all that xtra hardware.

I actually appreciated many of the staging and scripting elements of the
Bakshi version as well.
For example the scene with Galadriel's mirror was much more as I had

when Frodo asked her if she'd like the ring. She was

Wizards came before Bakshi's LOTR, and it was merely coloured scenes
from the movie Zulu. Fire and Ice used a much more involved rotoscopy
technique. I was at a conference years ago and had a few minutes to
talk to Bakshi about the technique. He's really gone downhill over
the years. I think
Given that he filmed it first then animated on top of it, its no
wonder it was an expensive effort. I also preferred elements of the
Bakshi LOTR. However Bakshi does not have a good reputation among
artists and writers. Ralph Pini one of the people who did the comic
series ElfQuest, has stated
Yeah - it's a shame. he had some great moments, but often you had to wade
through dreck to see them.
There was a weird (and thought ridiculously stupid) homage to him on the new
Ren and Stimpy series featuring him as a Ralph Kramden type character. He

I've met the Pini's several times (I lived in upstate NY and they live, or

Star Wars fans odd, but at least they're recognized.ElfQuest fans just

Quasimodo was the hunchback of Notre Dame. :) So she lays the wok
upside down and lays the shirt on top to do his ironing.
