We're playing a long game in the Middle East. I can only surmise that
Bush passed the ball to Obama, and he is playing out the same game.
Maybe he has even thrown in a few wrinkles like all the bowing and
scraping and apologizing overseas when he first started. Recently I've
been thinking that al
The republicans will tell you that they can win because they have guns
and the dems don't.
They might be in for a rather unpleasant surprise.

I have a bunch of other links but I wanted to post the one that would

At least you're consistent with your conspiracy theories.
I'm hearing we went in to secure the European energy, or just to help
the elections there.
Whatever reason I think we didn't do much planning.
Big troubles ahead.

Luckily we scared the nukes out of him when we went after Saddam.

The only change is how the media portrayed him. He didn't change at
all. The US propaganda machine is great at sitting up straw men for
us to hate, then changing their stance completely when the next hot
issue comes along. Big bads in the past who are now either our
friends or at least no longe
Didn't Reagan do this back in the early 80s with the contras?

In fact several US stars held a concert just the other day in Libya.
Before this uprising, I can't recall any recent issues with him and the US,

Well, there is that little matter of Ghaddafi being behind state
sponsored terrorism like the Lockerbie bombing and the bombing of
Marine barracks. You may not remember it, but Reagan sent cruise
missiles into Ghaddafi's compound before (without Congressional
authorization, btw) and killed members

Reagan did it. "Legal" seems to be less and less of a useful
distinction with Presidents.

Rice has said that Obama has not ruled out arming the Libyan rebels. Can he
do this without congressional oversight?
As an aside, the more I actually learn about the rebels, the more I see that
