Although the issue is resolved, I am on base housing and you are restricted to
what you can do. DirectTV needs an Internet connection for interactive features
such as pandora radio and such.

My first thought is why do you need your DirectTV hooked up to the
Internet? The second thought would be to have the cable/DirectTV guy run a
second cable port into the other room - if that is allowed by your
landlord, and I can't see why it wouldn't be.

I know, I used to be one of them. But I had the advantage of understanding

The PS3 is wireless and he is hooking up my directv with a DECA at the router
in the kitchen so that the receiving will be on line. No worries here now. Of
course Charter could not figure out how to get a MacBook Pro and a PC as well

It has a Bridge mode that you can hook up a wired device into the
wireless network.

First off, the PS3 is wireless, you shouldn't have a problem there.
Secondly, if the DirectTV receiver is not wireless and you can't run CAT-5,
you can set up a wireless bridge. Many moons ago, I was able to get an
effective bridge set up with two low-end Linksys 802.11g APs and it worked

doesn't the ps3 have wireless? if so its obvious, hook up the wireless
router and the ps3 hooks up to the internet via wireless. As for the
directTV system I think you may need a cable splitter and run a
separate line into the room with the directTV system.

tomorrow. Problem is there is only one cable jack in the living room. My cable
modem and wireless router are being connected in a different room than my
directv receiver and ps3. I am trying to figure out how i will connect
