When my dog gets really stiff I give her some Children's Motrin. Works a

The liver is apparently a big concern with NSAIDs too, at least in dogs. In
humans I gather they are more dangerous to the kidneys. But the choices as
presented are: surgery, $2000-$8000, might kill her, vet may or may not
agree to even attempt it because of her age; NSAIDs, $200+ a month, likely
NSAIDs aren't good for anyone. They eat the lining out of the
stomach. I am convinced they are only marketed to increase the demand
for Prilosec and Nexium.
Be careful with Tylenol dosing as it can kill the the liver.

Tylenol is ok then? So far the most interesting alternative I am seeing is
Tramadol, though I have not looked into price or availability yet. There
seem to be a LOT of horrible side effects for NSAIDs in dogs, up to and
including death, so if I'm going to spend a bunch of money on this problem
I'd
When my dog tore a ligament in his knee, we gave him one of my vicoden
(5mg/500 mg Tylenol at the time) and that was ok. There are several sites
out there if you google dogs and pain relievers. My dog is a rotterman, so
he is a big dog, so depending on your dog's size, the upper limits will
