I use Dr. Divx to convert to Divx. Works very well. However, it is not a
free program and it takes a long time to convert the content. It takes about
5 hours for my PC to convert 2 hours of content. During this time, you don't

As just an FYI - I tried PSPVideo9 - and it had no problem reading the VOBs.
Now - to brag - PSPVideo9 ripped a one gig VOB file for me in about 20
minutes. While it was working, I noticed no slowdown at all on my
machine.
My VOB also had black bars on bottom and top, and I was able to crop

Depending on where you want to play the files, you can just change the .vob
extension to .mpg and it should play in most video programs. You might want
to strip out the extraneous audio streams and combine the VOBs into one
file. I'd use DVD Decrypter for this. You can grab it from the
