data in a POST.. Maybe IE is being logical in trying to restrict you :-).

Although my production server has the system clock set correctly in the
correct time zone, when I use the coldfusion now() function, its reporting
the time being 5 hours ahead.

When you just see <. instead of the web page you are expecting, this
indicates that your CFMX 6.1 server is not fully patched as it was fixed
many many moons ago. It also indicates that your server is restarting itself
as the <. used to get displayed when the CF service was not started or
starting
Could you at least post the error message?
Look in the application.log and exception.log
The CFML code would also be useful.

No, its not finite. Each site will be looked at. For it not to be
accepted, it would have to be something glaring and even then, I would
run it by a couple of folks just to be sure I'm not being a prude. ;o)

This is kinda what we do, except we have a Gateway which accepts xml as
input, you pass in the component/function you want to call, plus all the
arguments etc. The system knows if and when you pass in incorrect params
