Plus, if you want IP's you can have them cheap if you know where to
go. Cybercon has hosted me for 2-3 years and they give you 32 IP's
free with each server. I also have another block of 64 IPs that I
pay... $10 per month for. Thats all 64 IPs for ten bucks, not each.

To spread the risk of one of your customers being blacklisted. If
you have them all on one IP, one blacklisted customer means thet
all have trouble

We are also using the technique of forwarding clients. We are now, +/- running 80 customers on a single CMS core, but we have offcourse, not 80 ip addresses. So based on the domain we forward them :) I see no issues with this, it is a common use when hosting.

We have close to 30 web sites on one server. We have over 200 domain
names pointing to the sites on that server and I've never had a
problem doing it. If there is a good reason not to, I would like to
know.
